In 2016, Dr. Jae-yong Jeong authored a comprehensive book on rhinoplasty surgery, which became a cornerstone of the subject in Korea. Following its success, he released a Japanese edition in 2017, which sold out within a month of its launch. This level of success is quite unprecedented in Japan for a book focusing exclusively on rhinoplasty surgery. After the first and second editions sold out, a third printing is now in progress, making it an essential read for all doctors in Japan interested in rhinoplasty surgery.

Published in 2018, the English version of ‘Rebuilding Nose: Rhinoplasty for Asians’ was crafted by the medical staff at THE PLUS Plastic Surgery. It aims to serve as a valuable study guide, grammar book, and self-development resource for those striving to become exceptional rhinoplasty surgeons. Editions in Chinese and Thai are planned for release in 2019.

Dr. Taek-Kyun Kim contributed as an author to the book “The 18 Masters of Korean Aesthetic Surgery”, a must-read guide on plastic surgery. His chapters specifically focus on rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty. This book serves as an essential informational guide for international patients seeking plastic surgery in Korea, providing insights into the industry and helping them navigate their surgical journey.

SRF (Seoul Rhinoplasty Forum) Conference Committee Presentations

SRF is Korea’s representative rhinoplasty specialty forum where the most authoritative plastic surgeons in each field gather to present and discuss new rhinoplasty, reoperations, and new surgical methods. SRF celebrated its 7th anniversary in 2017, and the number of participating plastic surgeons exceeds 200 from Korea and around the world. It can be said to be the most actively developed and fastest growing among the various rhinoplasty forums in the world.

THE PLUS Directors Dr. Kim Taek-gyun and Dr. Jeong Jae-yong are involved in the management of the SRF (Seoul Rhinoplasty Forum), presenting innovative rhinoplasty methods annually. At the 7th SRF in 2017, Director Kim Taek-gyun discussed the topic of failed autologous tissue, while Director Jeong Jae-yong presented on ‘Operated look of the Dorsum’ and ways to avoid and prevent it. As a result, he earned recognition from the plastic surgeons in attendance.

Dr. Jeong Jae-yong: Director of Tokyo Cosmetic Surgery

Tokyo Cosmetic Surgery is a prominent Japanese cosmetic surgery clinic with an extensive network of branches operating nationwide. With a total of 35 branches, including affiliate hospitals all over Japan, it is the largest plastic surgery network in the country.

For several years, THE PLUS Director Dr. Jeong Jae-yong has served as an advisory role for rhinoplasty surgery at Tokyo Cosmetic Surgery. Opened in July of 2014 along the Huangpu River in Shanghai, China, Seoul Leaguer is the only joint Chinese-foreign owned plastic surgery hospital in the country. This hospital employs top-tier medical professionals from Korea, specializing in plastic surgery, dermatology, and hair transplantation. We deeply appreciate the Chinese patients who, despite the challenges of language barriers and follow-up treatment, express their faith in Korean medical expertise through their journeys to our country, and this hospital has been established in their honor.

Director Jeong Jae-yong served as the head of the rhinoplasty center there and performed revision rhinoplasty and aesthetic rhinoplasty surgery on many Chinese patients. In today’s world, the internet and the rise of social media have immersed us in a sea of information. Honest and accurate information guides us to our desired destination, whereas inaccurate information can leave us adrift. The same applies to cosmetic surgery news, and it saddens me to see patients feeling overwhelmed by a surfeit of information. The increase in revision surgery cases underscores the significance of accurate and honest information and the dire need for highly aesthetically precise techniques.

If we were to liken nose surgery to building a house, it should never be a model house that’s briefly appreciated then demolished. As with any kind of plastic surgery, but particularly in rhinoplasty, consideration of both aesthetic appearance and the normal functions of each part is critical. A surgeon’s broad understanding and knowledge regarding anatomical structures, physiological functions, and beauty are demanded of the profession.

In my over 20 years of specializing in rhinoplasty, I’ve catered to countless patients, from anxious students having their first surgery, to those left despondent after multiple failures that have interrupted their daily lives. Each patient is different, with distinct situations and goals. Yet, for me, I always strive to do my best for each one, as every patient is important.

The process of plastic surgery can be compared to a journey of discovering and enhancing beauty. This journey demands not only professional expertise, adept technical skills, and an artistic sense, but also faith and trust in the individual accompanying you.

As I recently published my 20th paper on nose surgery and reflected on my past experiences, and even though rhinoplasty has been performed for a long time, operating on patients grappling with diverse and intricate problems still remains a cautious endeavor. This reaffirmation has only deepened my respect for my chosen profession.

I sincerely hope that the knowledge and skills I have acquired over the years will serve as helpful guides on your journey towards beauty. In the end, this journey is more than a job for me – it is my life’s calling.

As noted earlier, rhinoplasty forms an integral part of facial contouring surgery. It’s possible to have both facial contouring and rhinoplasty simultaneously, and even when planning rhinoplasty alone, it’s essential to consider the individual’s face shape.
