Visible Nose Tip Revision Surgery
Nose tip transparency is a phenomenon where the cartilage or implants used in a previous surgery become visible through thinned skin. This can be accompanied by other symptoms such as the nose tip bending or sagging.
What Causes Nose Tip Transparency?
Nose tip transparency can be caused by:
- The implant being too close to the skin.
- The boundary of the implant becoming visible due to mucosal contraction.
- The cartilage implanted in the nose tip continuously pressing the skin.
Before and After Nose Tip Transparency Correction
1. Additional Reinforcement of the Nose Tip Skin
In patients with thin or damaged skin, the skin of the nose tip can be reinforced using the fascia behind the ear, deep temporal fascia, or dermal fat tissue etc.

2. Shortening and Thinning the Implant at the Tip of the Nose
If an implant is inserted up to the tip of the nose, the skin at the tip of the nose becomes thin and the implant becomes visible. In such cases, along with reinforcing the skin, the implant is made shorter and not used up to the tip of the nose, and it is trimmed to become thinner as it gets closer to the tip of the nose.

3. Reducing Amount of Cartilage Transplanted or Trimming Edges of the Cartilage
If an excessive amount of cartilage is transplanted to the tip of the nose, they can press down on the lower cartilage and the skin above, causing it to become visible. Therefore, reducing the amount or trimming the edges can help reduce such phenomena.
